Background

The CARE UNLIMITED Program’s founding was inspired by the tremendous support its originator witnessed during his own family’s experience with diabetes and cancer. It was only during this time of need that he began to really take notice of the multitude of people giving of themselves within non-profit organizations, and providing a variety of care-oriented, and support services to people in their most desperate times of need. Almost without exception, the volunteers involved, like so many others, were selfless, positive, and giving individuals, who were eager to help ease the suffering of others, and give of themselves to help their community—in critically important, areas of service in the community.

For those who have been in need and been helped by one of these wonderful people, or services, it is painfully obvious that without them, our communities would simply be in chaos. Without question, these giving groups of people are worthy of our highest level of admiration and respect—and deserve much more support and recognition than they presently receive.

Goals

(1) to reward and recognize volunteers and others who help people in our communities

(2) to inspire growth in volunteerism and assistance for worthwhile charity and non-profit organizations, through enhancing existing programs, and innovating new programs

(3) to negotiate & offer a continually growing variety of advantages, opportunities and cost savings to the individuals, and their organizations, who participate in the program

(4) to offer a complete, simple, ready to use volunteer thank you program to participating charities and non-profit organizations at a minimum expense and requiring minimum human resources.

Promoting Volunteerism

  • Volunteers are the backbone of Ontario’s charitable and non-profit community service organizations. The way these organizations recognize their volunteers, be it through parties or complimentary gifts, is not only directly related to continued loyalty and duration of volunteer time donated, but also can be costly and very time consuming.
  • The Care Unlimited Program was designed to help Ontario’s charitable and non-profit organizations recognize their volunteers effectively, and at a minimum expense and with minimum human resources—both of which rank among an organization’s most precious commodities
  • Care Unlimited promotes volunteerism by providing an important acknowledgement of a volunteer’s service every time they use the Care Unlimited thank you card—both to peers and themselves
  • The thank you card allows a participating organization the luxury of providing an unique and exciting complimentary gift of unbeatable benefit and value, through an extremely simple and ready-to-use program that eliminates all the headaches

How It Works

The Care Unlimited Thank you Card is essentially a discount card. Its holder is entitled to reduced admission/cost for many attractions, goods and services throughout Ontario. To date there are over 65 contributing companies supporting the volunteer thank you card with special pricing. The card has a diverse mix ensuring that there is somehing of interest and value for volunteers of all ages and backgrounds.

Organizations need only to make a phone call to order the cards, and follow up with a simple email. For charities, their charitable number will be sufficient information. For non-profit organizations, a little more information will be required. The cards are then delivered C.O.D. right to the door of the purchasing organization.

When organizations give out the pre-numbered cards, they must only record the name of the cardholder and the date issued. The cards are immediately ready-to-use by the volunteer upon receiving it from their charity/non-profit organization. The card must be accompanied by photo-identification to be valid.
